Mrs. Emma C. Whittle, 99, of Springfield, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, SC.Burial will be in Pen Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery after the service. Mrs. Whittle was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of Hillard K. and Flora Byrd Cook.She was the retired owner/operator of Etheredge Hardware in North, and was married to the late B. Clarence Whittle.She was a member of North United Methodist Church and attended Pleasant Hill Church in Springfield, SC.Mrs. Whittle was a homemaker, seamstress and an avid reader.She loved her hometown of North. Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Cook. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM before the service on Friday.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is assisting with the arrangements.
