Duman Milo Taylor

September 26, 1928 — April 8, 2021

Duman Milo Taylor passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021 at the age of 92. He was the son of the late Maxey and Virgie Taylor. Duman graduated from Gilbert High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a pipefitter for over 40 years and retired in 1990.He was a proud member of the Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters Union for over 70 years. Mr. Taylor enjoyed farming and being a member of Swansea First Baptist Church, where he served in a variety of positions over the years. He was also a longtime member of the NRA. In addition to his parents, Duman was predeceased by six brothers, Brice, Harold, Gernie, Oneal, Paul and Herman Taylor; and four sisters, Geneva Taylor Shealy, Gertrude Taylor Kyzer, Lydia Taylor and Infant Taylor. Duman is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wauleska Lawson Taylor; two sons, Bruce (Sharon) Taylor and Robert (Jackie) Taylor; and one daughter, Julie Taylor. Mr. Taylor also has five Grandchildren, Lee (Shannon), Tony (Christy), Adam, Kyle (Erin) Taylor and Krissy (Justin) Hinson. In addition, there are nine Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Duman’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service on April 10, 2021, at 1pm at Antioch Baptist Church, 1477 W. E. Jeffcoat Road, Gaston SC.The family will greet friends and relatives after the service. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank all family and friends who have shown support during this difficult time. Thanks also to the staff at Lexington Medical Center and Columbia Community Hospice House for their excellent care.
