Dorothy Jean Williamson

Dorothy Jean Williamson, 78, of Gaston, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2015, at Gaston First Baptist Church in Gaston, with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM one hour before the funeral. Ms. Williamson was born in Gaston, a daughter of the late Harry and Annie Sightler Dowd.She was a member of Gaston First Baptist Church.She loved to cook, spend time with family and friends and fishing.She was loved so much by everyone that knew her. Survivors include two sons, Richard (Betty) Williamson and Larry (Carol) Williamson; daughter, Linda (Harvel) Sightler all of Gaston; brother, Jack (Annie) Dowd; sister, Barbara Backman; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a sister, Eloise Howard and brothers, Eddie Dowd and Wilbur Dowd. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church before the funeral and other times at the home of Richard and Betty Williamson, 123 Wayne Street, Gaston, SC 29053.
