David Newton “D.N.” Pou, Jr. died on January 30, 2018 at the age of 92.He was born near Livingston, SC and resided there for the majority of his life. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Hebron Southern Methodist Church in Livingston, SC.He will be laid to rest in the Old Hebron Cemetery.Visitation will follow the burial in the church. Mr. Pou was the son of the late David Newton Pou, Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth “Lizzy” Livingston Pou.Survivors include his two daughters, Betsy Pou Boland and husband Rusty of Elloree and Annie Laura Pou Hutto and husband Rod of Neeses; four grandchildren, Kathryn Boland Bozard (Foster) of Blythewood, Brian N. Boland, M.D. (Jill) of Greenville, Lauryn Elizabeth Pou Hutto of Charleston and D.C. Hutto of Aiken; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas Bozard of Blythewood, Mary Brooks, River and Luke Boland of Greenville; brother, Shelby Pou; best friend, Mac Livingston; fishing buddy, Benjamin McCormick; and a special friend, Tib Williams.He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Geraldine “Jerri” Estridge Pou. He was also predeceased by his sister, Harrie Howell Camp; and two brothers, Jacob Pou and Kirby Pou. Mr. Pou served in the South Pacific during WWII.He retired as a well driller, but continued to be a pine tree farmer.He was a talented craftsman, builder and there was very little that he could not accomplish.He was a Gideon and a member of Hebron Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Pou was revered for his upright life as a good husband, dutiful family member, loving father and grandfather.Being a man of the “Greatest Generation”, D.N. Pou, Jr. will be sorely missed.
