David E. Threatt, Sr., 71, of Swansea, died Friday, August 2, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2013, at King Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Cook Addy and Rev. Ed Lynch officiating.Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Rock Threatt, Jeff Threatt, Chris Threatt, Richard Walker, Sam Harley and Ray Rucker, III.Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of King Grove Baptist Church, the Senior Sunday School Class of Airport Baptist Church, Bryan Walker, Bill Walker, and Rocky Threatt. Mr. Threatt was born in Lockhart, SC, a son of the late George B. and Elizabeth P. McCloud Threatt, Sr.He was a retired truck driver and a member of King Grove Baptist Church and was also a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Rose Threatt; three sons, Rock Threatt of Swansea, Lonnie Treatt with the U. S. Navy in Virginia Beach, VA, Mike Ripperdan of St. Matthews; one daughter, Terry Harley of Pelion; two brothers, Douglas Treatt of Kentucky and Ted Threatt of Batesburg-Leesville; one sister, Mary Catherine Bollenbach of Columbia; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the church before the service and other times at the home, 1662 Daniel Sharpe Road, Swansea.
