Funeral services for Constance M. Tortora “Connie” McGaha, 67, of Swansea, SC will be held at Swansea First Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 with :Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Monday at Swansea First Baptist Church fellowship hall. Mrs. McGaha lost her 2 year battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 7:10 P.M.Born in New London, Ct, she was the daughter of the late John Arthur Tortora and Helen Elodi Poulin Tortora.She was wife of Doug McGaha.She was former owner of the Swansea Thrift Shop “The Quarter Store”, The little Pizza Shop of Swansea, Gaston and North and M&M Cleaning Services.Mrs. McGaha was an active member of Swansea First Baptist Church and a very respected business woman in the local Swansea community.Connie was well known for her business ethics and generosity as well as being a “hero” to her family.Everyone loved “Ms. Connie”!! Surviving in addition to her husband, are children Jamie Ann Sturkie Knight, Buffie Marie Raulerson (Matthew), and Philip Salvador Sturkie II; Stepchildren, Renee Hodges and Tyler McGaha; Grandchildren, Robert Lee Knight II, Michael Kenneth Shuler III, Ashlyn Rayne Morris, Shelby Lynn Raulerson, Izabella Lucile Sturkie, Philip Salvador Sturkie III, Sean Hodges, and Mackenzie McGaha; Sister, Joanne Claire Tortora Tischer (Joseph); Nieces and Nephews, Guy Allen Gebhart, Deeann Lynn Gebhart Richardson, Crystal Lynn Tischer, Laura Elysabeth Tischer,and Joseph Robert Tischer, Jr. She was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Carol Lee Tortora Gebhart. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Swansea First Baptist Church.
