Billy Wayne Callahan, 79, of Gaston, S. C. passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 16, 2022 at Gaston First Baptist Church with Rev. Brady Henderson, Rev. Rex Simmons and Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Callahan was born in Richland County, a son of the late James Luther Callahan, Sr. and the late Gladys Berry Callahan. He was a member of Gaston First Baptist Church and retired from Kline Steel. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Merilyn Pound Callahan; children, Patrick (Dawn) Callahan of Greenwood, Todd Callahan of Gaston, Jodi (Jenks) Skipper of Lexington, Noel (Robert) Wilson of Greenville and Adam Callahan of Gaston; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one on the way; Sisters, Gloria Livingston of Pelion, Judy (Charlie) McFaddin of Alcolu, Julie (Timmy) Martin of Sumter and Janice Hawkins of Sumter. Mr. Callahan was predeceased by his brother, James Callahan, Jr., his father, James Luther Callahan and his mother, Gladys Berry Callahan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home, North, S. C.
