Betty Sue Johnson Brown

Betty Sue Johnson Brown, 83, of Swansea passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Swansea First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.Burial will follow in the Redmond Family Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Randolph County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Edward O. Johnson and the late Alice Kaylar Johnson.She was married to the late Carey James “C.J.” Brown.Mrs. Brown loved her family.On Sundays and Wednesdays she would be found preparing family dinner (with at least double the food actually needed to feed them). She was a breast cancer survivor, a devoted member of Swansea First Baptist Church and the Metallic Club.She was retired from Lexington School District 4. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Spires and Donna (Jeffrey) Smith; grandchildren, Dustin (Brittany) Spires, Jasper (Josh) Volf, Austyn Jeffcoat, Zachery Smith, Joshua Smith, Jenna Jeffcoat and Allison Smith; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Brown and Bryson Spires.Mrs. Brown was predeceased by sons, Nedwin Brown and James Olin Brown. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Swansea First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the family home.
