Benjamine F. Mccormick, Jr.

Benjamine F. McCormick Jr. of North, SC passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 96 years old and was born on June 7, 1926. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Hebron Southern Methodist Church in Livingston, SC. Rev. John Hucks will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McCormick was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Benjamine F. McCormick, Sr and the late Martha Anne Welborn McCormick. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph David McCormick and J. Welborn McCormick. Mr. McCormick retired from the Savannah River Plant where he worked more than 30 years as an electrician. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed nature, farming and was incredibly knowledgeable in tree identification. He was a lifelong member of the Hebron Southern Methodist Church and was a WWII veteran. Survivors include his children Kathryn (Douglas Hihn) McCormick, Jan (McCrea) Ewart, Michael (Tammy) McCormick, and Benjamine McCormick, III. He was predeceased by his son James McCormick and grandson Patrick Ewart. He had nine grandchildren, Christopher McCormick, Angela Smith, Daniel McCormick, Joshua McCormick, Jonathan Ewart, Meagan Hildebrand, Jace McCormick and Jed McCormick. He also has nine great grandchildren. Culler- McAlhany Funeral Home, North, S.C. is assisting the family.
