Barry Chandler Sheetz

Barry Chandler Sheetz, 61, of Orangeburg, SC, died Sunday, December 13, 2015. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Old Union Cemetery, 3470 Willow Swamp Road, Cope, SC with Rev. Lois Helms officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be George F. Sheetz, III, Chandler Sheetz, Dillon Sheetz, Jason Blackmon, Jimmy Wingard and Rob Wingard. Mr. Sheetz was born in Columbia, SC, a son of the late Lt. Col. George F. Sheetz, Sr. and Elizabeth Chandler Sheetz.He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and attended the University of South Carolina.Mr. Sheetz was the Past Master of Progress Lodge 356, a member of Friends of the Edisto and the Sons of Confederate Veterans (River Bridge Camp No. 842). Survivors include brothers, George Frederick (Kathy) Sheetz, Jr., Mark Kennerly (Pam) Sheetz and Bruce Stuart Sheetz and nephew, George F. (Becky) Sheetz, III, niece, Amanda Sheetz, nephew, Chandler (Whitney) Sheetz, niece, Kayse (Jason) Blackmon and nephew, Dillon Sheetz and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Progress Lodge #356, 171 Spiderlily Lane, St. Matthews, SC 29135 or to a charity of one’s choice.
