Barry L. Amaker

Mr. Barry L. Amaker, 69, of North, SC, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church of North with Rev. Rick Jones officiating.Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with military rites.The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Mr. Amaker was born in Norway, SC, a son of the late Gurney and Ella Davis Amaker.He was a Vietnam Veteran with the US Army, a Past Master of the North Masonic Lodge #119, a member of the Will Connely Sunday School Class and worked with the North Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Cindy W. Amaker; son, Charles Timothy “Timmy” Amaker of North; daughter, Kristin L. (Ron, Jr.) Coker of Cope; grandson, Cameron Coker of Cope; brothers, Horace (Jennie) Amaker of Columbia, Robert (Shelby) Amaker of North; and sisters, Martha Rae Downing of North and Annette Roznowski of Anderson.He was predeceased by a brother, Hubert Amaker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the home, 119 Dogwood Drive, North, SC.
