Arlie Wayne “Dear” Newman, 69, of North, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Survivors include his mother, Betty Merritt Newman; children, RonJon (Heika) Newman, Becky (Kevin) Long and Robert Newman; grandchildren, Susie (Josh) Lawson, Shannon (Steve) Mrozinski, Alex Long, Trenton (Vanessa Gonzalez) Newman and Abby-Gail Newman; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joel (Debbie) Newman.He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Persinger Newman; and his father, R.J. Newman. He was a member of Dentsville Masonic Lodge No. 398 from 1977-2020. A memorial service will take place at a later time in Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home, P.O. Box 96, North, SC 29112, which will later make a donation to a charity of the family’s choice.
