Alton Joseph Broome, Sr. (A. J.), 71, of Woodford, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19th, at West Side Holiness Church 527 Augusta Street, West Columbia, SC 29169, with Rev. Kenneth Chavis and Rev. Judy Rollison officiating.Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North.The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Mr. Broome was born in Columbia, a son of the late Boyce and Lena McKenzie Broome.He was a member of Westside Holiness Church in West Columbia. Survivors include his wife Linda Kay Broome; six children, Joey Broome, Barbara (Steve) Whetstone, Michelle (Robert) Cottrell, Felicia (Joe) Livingston, Tammy(Eddie) Luna and Patricia (Paul) Flake; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
