Mr. Altman Edmund “Alton” Strickland, Sr., 73, of North, SC, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2015 at Orangeburg Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Thomas Brookshier officiating.Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North, SC.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM, one hour before the service. Mr. Strickland was born in North, SC a son of Mrs. Eloise Margarett Strickland and the late David William Strickland.He served in the U. S. Air Force, was employed at Greenwood Mills for 24 years and retired from Savannah River Site. Survivors include his wife, Norma Sue (Rose) Strickland of North, three sons, Eddy (Chris) Strickland, Chuck (Dora) Strickland, and Stephen (Tracy) Strickland; one daughter, Patricia (Allen) Collins; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Sherry (G. L.) Carson.He was predeceased by a grandson, William Hayden Strickland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church before the service located at 3440 North Road and other times at the home, 165 Amber Road, North, SC.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is assisting the family with arrangements.
