Adrian C. Martin

Mr. Adrian C. Martin, 92, of North, died Monday, December 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2016, at First Baptist Church of North with Rev. Larry Shull and Rev. Rick Jones officiating.Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Martin was born in Woodford, SC, a son of the late John D. and Alice Martin.He served in the Pacific during World War II, a City Councilman for the town of Woodford for over twenty years and was a board member of the Bull Swamp Water Company.He enjoyed football and baseball as a spectator and loved hunting and fishing.Mr. Martin was a member of First Baptist Church of North where he served as a Deacon and was married to the late Gladys C. Martin. Survivors include a son, Carroll (Geri) Martin; brother, O’Neal (Vernell) Martin; sisters-in-law, Patty Martin and Nancy Martin, and a number of nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Dianne Martin; granddaughter, Ashley Martin; brothers, Gerald Martin and Rodney Martin and a sister, Betty Jean (Fred) Whitman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) of North, SC. The family extends a thank you to the staff of Morningside Assisted Living and a special thanks to Jane Tindall for the care given to Mr. Martin.
